Privacy Policy

Effective 30 September 2026

Bond helps you be a better friend, partner, child, parent and neighbour. It remembers the people in your life — their birthdays and anniversaries, what was said, what you promised, gift ideas and life events — and Memriq's Helm helps you act on it. Bond is operated by Memriq Holdings, Inc. ("Memriq", "we"), which is the controller of the personal information described here.

Bond holds information about people who have never signed up for Bond and never agreed to anything. This policy is written around that fact.

What Bond keeps

  • Your account — your name and email address, and a password or your Google sign-in. One Memriq account signs you in to every Memriq service; being let in to Bond is decided separately, by invitation.
  • The people in your Bond — only what you type in, or what you choose to keep from a source you connected: a name or nickname, how they relate to you, their dates, your notes of what was said, promises and plans, gift ideas, life events, shared interests, contact details and a photo if you add one.
  • Your settings — how much Bond may do on its own, and the reminders you asked for.
  • Support conversations — what you write to Bond's support chat.

How it is protected

Everything about a person in your Bond is encrypted under your own account — including how they relate to you. Only random record identifiers and timestamps are stored unencrypted, so someone who obtained Bond's stored data without your account's key could not tell who any of it is about. Your Bond is never joined with anyone else's: the same friend in two people's Bonds shares nothing and is never linked, by name, email, phone number or anything else.

What Bond reads with your permission

If you connect your email or calendar, Bond reads them to suggest things worth remembering. A message is read in memory and never stored; only the fact you choose to keep is kept, with the sender, subject and date it came from, encrypted like everything else. A calendar event's title is never stored. You can disconnect at any time.

What Bond never does

Bond never contacts anyone in your life on your behalf — no message, email, call or invitation, at any setting. It never guesses anything about anyone's health or other sensitive matters; it keeps only what you wrote down or what a source you connected said. It never shares your Bond with anyone and never buys anything. How much Bond may do on its own is your setting, and Bond tells you what a setting allows before you choose it.

We do not sell or share your personal information, and have not in the past twelve months.

Where Bond's words go outside Bond

  • Helm — a reminder or to-do you ask for is written into your Helm account, which encrypts it under your account the same way.
  • Billing — Memriq's billing service sees only your account id and which Bond feature was used.
  • AI models — where a task does not need someone's name, the text a model reads has names and contact details removed first; a suggestion is kept only when you choose Keep.

Services that process it for us

  • Railway — runs Bond's servers.
  • MongoDB Atlas — stores Bond's records, encrypted as described above, in the United States.
  • OpenAI — the language model Bond uses to turn a note into suggestions and to suggest gift ideas.
  • Resend — delivers the emails Memriq sends you, through Memriq's one sender.
  • Google — signs you in, if you choose Google, and connects your mail and calendar, if you choose.

How long it is kept

Bond keeps what you saved until you delete it. Your account and everything in your Bond are deleted within 30 days of your account closing. Support messages are kept for 2 years, server logs for 90 days, and billing records, if you ever have any, for 7 years. Backups can hold deleted data for up to 35 days before it is gone from them too.

Forgetting a person, deleting it, or getting a copy

Deleting a person from your Bond deletes everything Bond holds about them. Bond gives you a download of everything it keeps for you and a way to delete everything in your Bond. Closing your Memriq account has no self-serve button: write to privacy@memriq.ai, or ask Bond's support chat to pass you to a person — we acknowledge within 5 business days and finish within 30 days. The same address gives you a copy of what we hold, or corrects it.

If you are in the EU or UK

We rely on the contract with you to run Bond, on our legitimate interests to keep it working and secure, and on your consent for anything else. Your information is processed in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
